Volusia County Sheriff's Office Communications dispatches all Law Enforcement and Fire agencies in the county. Some talkgroups on the EDACS system are not simulcast to all sites.

LE1: Beach Patrol (Peak beach season only) (rarely used)

  • Beach Patrol is split up between LE5 and LE7 now

LE2: VCSO District 2, Deland PD, Lake Helen PD
LE3: VCSO District 3N, Holly Hill PD, Ormond Beach PD
LE4: VCSO District 4 (Deltona) & District 6 (DeBary), Orange City PD
LE5: South Daytona PD, Port Orange PD, Daytona Beach Shores PD, Ponce Inlet PD
LE6: Not in use
LE7: VCSO District 3S , Edgewater PD, New Smyrna Beach PD

  • District 3S is also known as District 5
  • District 3S Also covers Oak Hill

VCSO Tac 1-7: All 7 Tac channels are used by all LE departments; typically, the number of the tac channel corresponds to what LE Dispatch channel they are on. Example: LE2 Agencies are assigned Tac 2, LE3 Agencies are assigned Tac 3, etc. However, some LE agencies may use their own departments' tac channels.

  • VCSO units may not always prefix themselves as "1" on any of the LE talkgroups.
    • Any VCSO units that end in a "0" are SGTs.

  • Units that end with 11,12,21,or 22 are SGT/Supervisor
  • Units that end with 10 or 20 are Lieutenants

  • The majority of Edgewater’s radio traffic is traffic stops.

Holly Hill PD (radio prefix 7)

  • Units that end with 0 are the SGT

Lake Helen PD (radio prefix 8)

New Smyrna Beach PD (radio prefix 9)

  • Units that end with 10 are the SGT

Ormond Beach PD (radio prefix 10)

VC Beach Safety

  • VCSO now handles all LE operations on the beach

    • Units identified with "Guard" instead of "Golf" - G41 = "Guard 41"
    • Units may also refer to themselves (and be referred to as) "lifeguard" instead of just "guard"
  • Signal 101 - Indicates a shark presence.
  • Red Light - Thunderstorm, everyone out of water.
